Welcome to Twelfth Street Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
We are the oldest African American Disciples of Christ congregation in the greater Washington, Metropolitan
region. We are a spiritually centered family of believers forever embracing the extensive nature of Christ and his resurrection. We are a mainstream Protestant denomination placing our primary emphasizes on Word, Sacrament and, Service. We believe in a practical gospel that challenges and encourages believers to seek a deeper understanding of and purpose for their Christian faith.
Twelfth Street Christian Church is well known for its hospitality and friendliness.
We are a "gentle congregation" believing and living by the principals and teaching of Jesus Christ and the eternal hope declared absolute in His word preached. God's grace and mercy dwells in our sanctuary and God's word of hope and salvation remain our call to service.
